Greetings! My name is Caleb and I operate White Metal Games, a miniature painting and conversion service for all your wargaming needs. We specialize in creating custom models for your favorite hobbies, including but not limited to Warhammer 40k, Warhammer Fantasy Battles, Dungeons and Dragons, and other fantasy/sci-fi roleplaying or wargaming/tabletop games. Our miniatures are kit bashed from a variety of sources, including but not limited to Mcfarlane Spawn and Mcfarlane Dragons, Star Wars miniatures, D&D miniatures, Kenner Aliens, Privateer Press, Games Workshop, Reaper miniatures, Kryomech, Safari LTD, and many, many others. We in no way claim these are original creations, merely original conversions of existing model kits and action figures. We are not trying to pass our products off as original work. We primarily aim to create new models out of existing ranges. Often times our models are 're-interpreations' or 're'imaginings' of existing models. For example, many of our models could be thought of as 'poor-man's versions' or 'proxies' to be used until the miniature manufacturer comes out with an official model for standard play. 'Custom' modelsThe nature of converting miniatures is that every model is a stand alone piece, unique in some way. Although we attempt to create models that can be replicated easily, so that anyone who wishes to purchase a similar model can do so, this is not always the case. Some bits are OOP, or unusually expensive or hard to obtain. While this means that your order will be personalized and one of a kind, it also means that not every model can be duplicated. We do our best to fulfill our clients every need and wish, but understand that there are limits to what we can do without the full resources of a major corporation at our disposal. Obtaining a Quote for ServicesThe question is often posed whether or not WMG offers custom models per client request. YES. In fact over half our business is simply by request. WMG has a blog updated weekly. You can see many of our wonderful custom models here: http://whitemetalgames.blogspot.com Custom models are created as per your specifications. I have thousands of pictures showing examples of models I have constructed for clients previously in a variety of ranges. I am happy to send you pictures upon request. The makeup and build of your particular model is up to you. Many clients want to base their model on an existing GW model, such as a carnifex or trygon. Other clients will request something more extravagant, using out of production models or figures from other ranges. Some clients will simply want a display piece for their shelf that will never see the tabletop. I am well versed in all of these sorts of conversions. I am an experienced sculptor and will blend the various parts of your model together using plasticard, parts from other kits, and 2 part epoxy putty to make a unified, cohesive whole. Your model will be a custom piece to be proud of and show off to your friends. Your model will be based appropriately and in a way that pleases you. It can be mounted by a pin to the base, suspended above the base, or in a specific pose (such as landing, taking off, or in flight). It can be textured with bark (which has a finished look that is similar to slate) and sand at no extra cost. It can also be primed either white or black for free, or if another color of your choosing for a nominal charge. Please tell us if you would like your model primed. We use Walmart brand 'Great Value' primer, flat black and flat white, unless otherwise noted. Your model can be armed any way you like. You can specifiy specific biomorphs, weapons, etc. It can even be magnetized, although this will carry an additional charge depending on the options you wish included with your model. For tournament players, we will ensure this model is tournament legal for your ease of play if you so desire. Tournament disclaimerFor you tournament players out there, we realize that our models are often time described as 'not tournament friendly' or 'illegal', or even 'not playable'. This is often due to issues such as size/scale, or the parts used for the construction of these models. And to those players we say this: Tournaments are an artificial environment, laying down restrictions and criteria to provide a competitive environment. Using your imagination and doing what you want with your toy soldiers is your choice, not the game developers. We'd like to see more in official publications such as White Dwarf and on the GW website reminding players that they are perfectly entitled to bend the rules as they see fit, so long as their opponents agree to them. Remember, it's only a game. Even as the world edges towards and more and more competitive play style, where winning is put before having fun, we are WMG will remain stoic and hold to our mantra: It's a game. Play it any way you like, with any pieces you like. Just have fun doing it.
